This project was developed as part of the Professional Studio Practice module, where we were introduced to the professional and business side of working as a graphic designer. The module focused on learning how to manage client relationships, calculate hourly rates, create contracts and terms and conditions, and understand the overall process of running a design project professionally.
For this project, I worked with a real client who was opening a nail studio and required a complete visual identity for her business. After discussing the client’s vision and target audience, I developed branding that reflected a clean, modern, and feminine aesthetic suitable for the nail industry. Alongside the branding, I designed a range of promotional materials including business cards and loyalty cards to create a consistent and recognisable identity across different touchpoints.
Working directly with a client allowed me to experience the importance of communication, organisation, and time management within a professional design process.
Throughout the project, I learned how to respond to feedback, present design decisions clearly, and manage a project from initial concept development through to final outcomes. This experience strengthened both my branding skills and my understanding of professional practice within the creative industry.
