This major project outcome I explores the cultural, historical, and symbolic significance of tulips through editorial and photographic design. Throughout the project, I researched the origins of tulips, their meanings across different cultures, and the symbolism associated with their life cycle. This work informed the development of a publication that combines informative content with visual storytelling to create a deeper emotional connection with the subject.
As part of the final outcome, I designed and produced an editorial book focused on tulips, including information about their history, symbolism, growth stages, and how to care for them. I aimed to create a publication that felt both educational and visually engaging by combining structured layouts, typography, and imagery inspired by the delicate and organic nature of flowers.
Alongside the book, I created a series of three photographic posters connected to the theme of the tulip life cycle. For these posters, I photographed tulips during three different stages: before blooming, fully bloomed, and after they had died. Each poster was paired with carefully selected quotes to reflect themes of growth, beauty, change, and impermanence. Through this project, I developed my skills in editorial design, photography, layout composition, and visual narrative while exploring how design can communicate emotion and meaning through natural forms.
